Public Policy

The AOA continually works to expand the public policy impact of osteopathic medicine at the federal and state levels of government by engaging members in advocacy efforts. By combining grassroots advocacy with events like DO Day on Capitol Hill, town hall meetings and health policy forums, engaged AOA members help strengthen the profession's influence with legislators and policymakers.

DO Day on Capitol Hill 2017

More than 1,000 DOs and osteopathic medical students marched on Capitol Hill to urge lawmakers to reauthorize federal funding for teaching health center graduate medical education, which is set to sunset in September.
